Many companies use the purchase order system so that buyers can clearly communicate with the seller as to the type, specifications and quantities of the goods they require. The purchase order provides protection for the seller in case they have to alter some features or specifications of the goods and the buyer refuse to pay for it.
The management of orders and ordering of raw materials and other necessities to fill an order is also easier with the purchase order system. The purchasing process becomes standardized with the receipt of a purchase order.
