If you receive some notices or letters from the IRS then perhaps there are more than one tax return are filed for you or maybe there is an unknown employer that sends you some wages. These things usually happen for some tax refund. If the thief files the tax return before you do, the IRS will believe you already filed and received your refund if eligible.
